Hey, remember when the government’s goal was to act in the interest of Americans?  Me neither.  The same can be said for most (if not all) corporations.

WASHINGTON–Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates on Wednesday renewed his fight for “infinite” H-1B guest-worker visas and improvements in U.S. education before largely receptive senators on Capitol Hill.

Worse is better.  I shall remember this, and to breathe deeply as I recall the misery and humiliation of looking for work in a market saturated with Indians asking for 8$ / hr.  Worse is better.  Without the H1-B issue, I would still be a picket-fence 2.1-child Republican.  Hopefully this issue will continue to turn complacent white men into bomb-throwing radicals. 

I actually appreciate the fact that all these people are making themselves well known for when the time comes.  This is serious stuff, Mr. Gates.  When you call for “infinite” H1-B’s, you’re essentially calling for an infinite number of American tech workers to be displaced from the jobs.  Wouldn’t you take it seriously if someone was so haughtily planning your displacement?

Politicians indicated they’re also willing to take cues from Gates as
they craft new laws in the immigration area. In his testimony, Gates
said there’s only one way to solve what he deemed a “crisis”-level
shortage of qualified scientific talent: “Open our doors to highly
talented scientists and engineers who want to live, work and pay taxes
here.”

“. . . so we super-wealthy can get them down to $6 / hr!”  Tech workers and programmers deserve better, as do all Americans.  They’re bright men who deserve, at the very least, a middle-class wage for their long hours. 

Gates repeated a now-familiar plea by high-tech companies for an
overhaul of the H-1B visa system. Established in 1990, that program
currently awards 65,000 visas to foreigners with at least a bachelor’s
degree in their area of specialty and allows them to remain employed in
the United States for up to six years.

Gates said there’s a “terrible shortfall” in the number of visas
available to high-tech companies and cautioned that the nation will
“find it infinitely more difficult to maintain its technological
leadership if it shuts out the very people who are most able to help us
compete
.”

Well, no, Americans allow you to compete.  Only here would you be able to saturate the market with sub-quality software with no actual standards as there are in every other field of engineering.  The Europeans would have parted Microsoft over a decade ago.  In Asia, you would be state-owned.  Perhaps Microsoft could “off-shore” to Africa, since you’re so interested in the plight of Africans.  We’re all equal and stuff, therefore you should find plenty of folks willing to code your software in Zimbabwe.  Of course, if you ask for “infinite H1-B’s” there, it would be called “colonialism.” 

“America has always done its best when we brought the best minds to
our shores,” Gates said, citing German-born Albert Einstein as an
example.

Oh, FFS.

The current system in the U.S. (made up from “mainstream” political parties, the press, and corporations) is oriented counter to the interest of ordinary whites.  From the Declaration of Independence, 2nd paragraph:

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men,
deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That
whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it
is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it
, and to institute
new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing
its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect
their Safety and Happiness.

It’s not getting better.  The Democrats will not save you.  If you believe there is something wrong about your government openly flaunting  your interests in lieu of the interests of foreigners (say,  how about we try going to India and seeing if their government will let us work–they won’t!) and their cash-contributers, then come with us.
