Cherry Hill man admits bias intimidation

A Cherry Hill man pleaded guilty Monday to bias intimidation, admitting he made race-based comments to a black woman at a bus stop.

James McFeeters, 44, who lives in a Route 70 apartment complex
, told
the woman that “blacks and Jews should not live in white
neighborhoods,” according to his statement in court. The incident
occurred at a bus stop on Kings Highway in Cherry Hill.

The woman reported the incident to police, said Assistant Camden County Prosecutor Robert Luther.

Because McFeeters has been incarcerated since soon after the October
2005 incident
, and a plea agreement sets a 180-day maximum term in the
Camden County Jail, he was released on bail Monday.

Superior Court Judge Louise Donaldson set sentencing for April 20.
