IOL: Baby drowns in bucket of vomit
New York – A teenage mother who spent an evening drinking gin before her four-month-old daughter drowned in a bucket of cleaning solution and vomit pleaded guilty on Thursday to criminally negligent homicide in the baby’s death. Savarin DeJesus, 18, of Staten Island, entered the plea in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court in exchange for a sentence of five years’ probation. She was allowed to leave court with her family after entering the plea.
